Crowd Pulse
Hedge funds now watch retail chatter as closely as earnings. This page does the same, twice a day: it counts how much Reddit, 4chan, Stocktwits and Yahoo are talking about each stock, compares that with the stock's own normal level, and checks whether volume, options and price are starting to agree.

Read it this way: energy is built to find stocks that are about to move a lot. Whether the crowd's lean also gets the direction right is a separate, harder question; the hit rate shows it honestly.
How the score works, and the catches
Energy (0–100) = 35% chatter surge vs. the stock's own 3-week normal · 20% how much chatter in absolute terms · 15% breadth (Reddit forums, Stocktwits trending, Yahoo trending, fast Stocktwits stream) · 20% market confirmation (volume vs. normal, unusual options volume) · 10% speed (Stocktwits messages per hour, follower growth). Stocks with fewer than 8 mentions are halved so a jump from 2 to 8 posts can't dominate.
Lean blends Stocktwits bull/bear tags (measured against their usual ~70% bullish tilt), the last 5 days of price, and the options put/call mix.
- Sources: Reddit and 4chan counts via ApeWisdom; Stocktwits public API; Yahoo Finance. X/Twitter isn't included (its API is paid).
- Crowds are often late. Research on retail attention finds that big attention spikes come with short-term price pressure that tends to reverse within weeks. That's why 🌱 Early is separated from 🔥 Hot and 🧊 Cooling.
- Bots and pumps exist. A sudden surge in a tiny stock with no volume confirmation is a warning sign, not a signal.
- Trade ideas only come from 🌱/🔥 names with a clear lean, energy 55+, price ≥ $3, market cap ≥ $300M and listed options.
